In packaging, a cut-scoring rule is a steel strip that is ground on one edge, designed to partially cut through boxboard or fiberboard stock. This process helps create fold lines by only cutting partway through the material, which is essential for creating bends or creases in packaging materials without cutting all the way through. Cut-scoring rules are used in the manufacture of folding cartons and other corrugated packaging products to maintain the structural integrity of the package while allowing it to be folded easily. This technique enhances the overall durability and flexibility of the packaging, ensuring ease of assembly and protection during transit.
