Type II glass, also known as treated soda lime glass, is chemically treated to enhance its resistance to alkali. This process involves sulfur treatment on the inner surface of the glass, which improves its chemical durability and makes it suitable for packaging acidic and neutral aqueous products. Common applications of Type II glass include packaging for injectable solutions, IV fluids, and other pharmaceutical products that require a higher level of protection from chemical interactions with the container. Type II glass ensures the stability and safety of the products it contains while providing a cost-effective packaging solution.
